This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw aired live from London, England and John Cena kicked off the show once again. As soon as he made his way to the ring and his music stopped Cena was heavily booed by the fans in attendance.
John Cena started to position the microphone in front of his face as he prepared to speak, but Cody’s music hit and the Undisputed WWE Champion made his way out. Cena looked disgusted as the fans sang Cody’s song. He tried to speak once again, but Cody interrupted and said he’s going to do John’s job for him. The American Nightmare pointed out all the things Cena could make fun of him for such as his lisp, or his run as Stardust. He said it must bother Cena that he’s going to wrestle Stardust in his final WrestleMania match.
Cody said Cena has been lying for weeks as he knows that Cena cares about the fans. He told Cena to look at the fans and really tell then why he turned on them.
Cena told Cody he’s not going to protect him, or cook him, he’s going to bury him. John brought up how the fans accused him of burying everyone for years, and he said he buries mediocrity. He told Cody his ego outmatches his ability, and all Cody has done is ride the coattails of his success. Cena said that Cody stole the blueprint and thinks he can run the kingdom. He admitted that seeing Cody with the title disgusts him.
John Cena accused Cody of being fake, and being afraid of showing the world who he really is. Cena emphasized that he worked too hard to watch a “nepo baby” carry around the WWE Championship. He told Cody that he’s an errand boy who got lucky.
Cody said he was chosen by the fans while Cena was chosen by “one guy in an office who’s not here anymore, so we don’t talk about him.” He accused Cena of being the one who’s actually a company creation. The American Nightmare told Cena not to act like he left WWE better than he found it.
Rhodes finally mentioned The Rock and asked Cena whether it was him or Cena who sold out to The Final Boss. He told Cena, “John you’re still my hero, but you’re also a piece of s***.”
Cena said no one has been worthy enough to put him in the ground, so he decided to do it himself. John Cena told Cody that he makes empires for billionaires and all Cody does is steal money from their kids.
As John Cena was leaving Cody pointed out that never once have the fans chanted “you can’t wrestle,” at him. Cena got back in the ring and stared down Cody. Cena pretended to leave again then charged at Cody who put him down with the Cross Rhodes. Cody then picked up the title and left.
