Cody Rhodes has been a very hot topic in the world of wrestling ever since he confirmed his departure from AEW, and he made his big return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 earlier this month.
In the weeks leading up to his return it was rumored that he could be making an appearance during the March 14th episode of Raw in Jacksonville, but ultimately that didn’t end up happening. Cody Rhodes discussed his return during an appearance on Out Of Character with Ryan Satin, and he noted that WrestleMania was always the plan.
“As far as my understanding goes, the plan was always WrestleMania. Nothing was ever considered. At one point, I saw people talking about [debuting in] Jacksonville [on Monday Night RAW] and that was a no. Again, it’s not about leaving, it was about returning and the place to do it was at the Showcase of the Immortals, at the biggest stage there is in what we do, undisputed is WrestleMania.
“And there was a lot of synergy and love over the fact that it was Dallas, Texas, and that was where I had my last WrestleMania with the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship.”
Cody Rhodes will face Seth Rollins at the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view on Sunday, May 8th. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
