Cody Rhodes is currently one of the top stars and one of the Executive Vice Presidents for All Elite Wrestling, but Cody spent several years working as a WWE Superstar.
During his WWE run Cody tried out a few different gimmicks, but his Stardust gimmick was easily the most infamous.
Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT recently brought up Stardust on Twitter and noted that the company had Cody work as Stardust for two years.
The tweet got a response from Cody who said that the character broke him when he responded with the following:
“Not pushing Stardust wasn’t the crime, the character had broke me and I was a subpar performer under the paint during that period
The crime was not capitalizing on 2010-12 where I was cooking with gas and my live event work was top level consistent
In the end, blame is on me”
Cody Rhodes is currently being advertised for a match with Jimmy Havoc on AEW Dynamite this week, and he’s also expected to work as a special guest commentator.
