WWE promised that Mick Foley would be introducing a new championship on the latest episode of Raw, and when it came time for the belt to debut Mick introduced the new WWE 24/7 Championship.
The title is similar to the Hardcore Title in the respect that it can change hands anywhere at any time as long as a referee is present.
However, the segment didn’t exactly go over all that well, and the design of the belt has been getting ripped on by fans since Raw aired on Monday.
Cody Rhodes addressed the title during a live Q&A session at Starrcast II and he said that he felt bad for Foley.
“Let’s be fair, we all love Mick Foley, right? Everybody loves Mick Foley. I felt so bad. He’s standing out there, he’s a living legend. What the f— was he holding? Like, no thought! No thought went into that. ‘What is it?’ Oh, it’s 24/7. ‘So, what do you put on it?’ 24/7! No thought!”
Nick Jackson then chimed in and said that the AEW titles are going to look good.
“You know what? Here’s another thing, our titles are going to look good. Good lord, I saw a graphic of that new title and I almost threw up.”
