After months of speculation CM Punk finally made his return to WWE on Saturday night when he appeared after the main event. The cameras briefly showed Punk for a few minutes before the show went off the air while not much focus was given to the reactions of the stars who wrestled in the main event.
However, video footage of Seth Rollins screaming at ringside has been making the rounds, and it’s been reported that Rollins had to be ushered away because he was looking for CM Punk backstage.
Dave Meltzer talked a little bit about Seth Rollins’ reaction to Punk’s return on Wrestling Observer Radio and he claimed that it was all an angle playing off some of the things Seth has said about Punk in the past.
“As far as the Seth thing goes, that was all an angle. That was 100% an angle. Playing off the fact that months ago, when somebody asked Seth Rollins, it’s like ‘He’s a cancer, we don’t want him’, which later by the way, he said if the company wants him and it’s the right thing, he doesn’t have a problem with it. But because he made that statement, they figured they could do a ‘shoot angle’ with it and it makes sense.”
So far creative plans for CM Punk have not been revealed, but it certainly seems that there’s a lot of potential for a CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins feud, so we’ll have to see where things go from here.
