CM Punk’s issues with WWE have been well documented, and WWE doctor Chris Amann’s lawsuit against Punk and Colt Cabana has also been well documented.
Now PWInsider is reporting that the civil trial for Chris Amann’s lawsuit is set to begin today in Cook County Court in Illinois.
Chris Amann filed the lawsuit in February of 2015, and Amann is seeking more than $1 million in damages following the comments Punk made about him on Colt Cabana’s podcast back in 2014.
CM Punk surely has a lot on his plate right now, as he’s also set to face off against Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in Chicago on June 9th.
People within the MMA community have been critical of Punk’s spot on the card, but Dana White recently defended the decision during the post-fight press conference in Liverpool on Sunday, and noted that Punk sells pay-per-views.
“Hey listen, when Alistair Overeem sells as many pay-per-views as ‘CM Punk’ does, we can argue,” White said.
