CM Punk parted ways with WWE back in January of 2014, and on Saturday night the unthinkable happened when he finally returned at Survivor Series. Now that CM Punk is back on the roster everyone is waiting to see what the future holds for him.
Fightful Select is reporting that there was talk of WWE using CM Punk as a “free agent” but he is currently scheduled for Monday Night Raw. It’s also being reported that much of this week’s WWE Raw episode was planned without CM Punk, so rewrites are being done in order to fit him in.
It’s not clear at this point what WWE has planned for CM Punk on Raw, but it wasn’t part of WWE’s plans when Shinsuke Nakamura’s current storyline started. It’s possible that the angle could be adjusted to work CM Punk into it even though it wasn’t set for him at the time. As of right now not many people know what the current plan is for Shinsuke Nakamura’s program.
One way or another it’s being reported that CM Punk’s contract with WWE is a multi-year agreement, so it sounds like we’ll be sticking around for a while. While WWE has yet to make any official announcements it seems that Punk’s first feud following his return may have been teased on Saturday night, and you can get more on that here.
