After months of speculation CM Punk finally made his big return to WWE at the Survivor Series premium live event last month. Now everyone is waiting to see where Punk goes from here as it’s rumored that he’ll be feuding with Seth Rollins and eventually facing off with Roman Reigns.
One listener asked Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio if WWE could book CM Punk to lose his first match following his return, and Meltzer speculated that WWE could go in that direction as a way to test Punk.
“I think that they may do that. They may do that just to see his attitude. I could see that. … From a pure business standpoint, if he had no baggage on him, … I would say that he really should win. … But I don’t know that you can go that way. I think he almost has to do something to prove to everyone that he will do business.”
CM Punk appeared on Monday Night Raw last week following his return at Survivor Series. Punk is not currently booked for this week’s episode of Raw, but he will be appearing on Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
