Monday Night Raw aired live from Belfast, Northern Ireland this week and the show featured a huge main event. CM Punk defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor and the two stars faced off in the main event.
The crowd was fired up for Finn Balor as he walked out to his old entrance theme as he entered the arena. The fans in Belfast were very clearly behind Finn Balor and CM Punk received a mixed reaction from the fans at the SSE Arena.
At one point Balor went for the Coup De Grace, but Punk rolled out of the way. Balor then walked right into the GTS and he managed to kick out at two when Punk went for the cover. Punk followed up with the Anaconda Vice and Balor got his foot on the rope to break the hold.
CM Punk stood up and called for another GTS as the fans booed. He put Balor up on his shoulders, but Balor got out of it and connected with a Sling Blade followed by a dropkick into the corner. Finn finally connected with the Coup De Grace and Punk kicked out.
Finn Balor picked Punk up and Punk put him on his shoulders for another GTS. Balor turned it into a roll up for a two count and Punk hit the GTS again right after to pick up the win and retain the title.
After the match CM Punk picked Balor up and showed respect the challenger as he raised up his arm. They exchanged some words and Finn Balor looked out from outside the ring as Punk celebrated with the title as the show went off the air.
