It’s no big secret that CM Punk’s first UFC fight didn’t go so well, as he was defeated by Mickey Gall in 2 minutes and 45 seconds at UFC 203 in September of 2016.
But CM Punk is getting his shot at redemption in a few weeks, as he’s set to face Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in Chicago on June 9th.
Whether you like CM Punk or not, there’s no denying that he has name value, but there are some fans out there who feel that Punk doesn’t deserve a spot on the UFC 225 card.
It was recently reported that Punk vs. Jackson will open the show on June 9th, and one fan caught Mark Coleman’s attention when he posted the following:
It's a damn shame that @CMPunk keeps getting put on cards when they're is such an abundance of more deserving and qualified fighters available that would kill for the chance

However, Coleman showed support for Punk and even gave him a little encouragement.
Sometimes u have to make exceptions.$ I'm excited for this fight . I wish @CMPunk the best! But I understand.

Punk responded to the controversy by saying that if it were up to him, he would be in the first fight on Fight Pass, and that fans like to get outraged over things that don’t matter.
I understand too. If it was up to me, I'd be first fight on fight pass. Don't matter to me. Fans like to be outraged by stuff that doesn't matter. (Appreciate the support Mr. Coleman!!!!! You're truly the man)

According to CM Punk’s coach Duke Roufus, the former WWE Champion has made some major improvements since his last fight, so we’ll have to see if he’s able to pick up a win in a few weeks.
