CM Punk hasn’t wrestled an official match in years, but the former WWE Champion left behind quite the legacy for himself in the world of professional wrestling.
Punk got to show off his talents on a global stage when he signed with WWE, but before his WWE run he established himself as a force in the wrestling world while competing in Ring of Honor.
During a recent episode of the ROH Strong podcast former ROH owner Cary Silkin talked about two names who showed interest in purchasing the company, and those names were Jerry Jarrett and CM Punk.
“I get a text message in like 2010. CM Punk texts me out of nowhere and is like, ‘What would you want to sell Ring of Honor?’ I’ve hustled tickets on the street and have had a somewhat successful business. I don’t think text messaging is the way to approach sales of companies. That first text message might be, ‘I’d like to talk to you about something.’ Those were my only two real offers…they weren’t real. Those were the only two rinky-dink offers I’ve ever had.”
Silkin went on to say that Punk’s “business tactics weren’t the best” and that the two parties never had an actual conversation regarding the purchase.
It’s also interesting to note that CM Punk was under contract with WWE in 2010.
