It’s been rumored for weeks now that CM Punk is set to make his return to All Elite Wrestling, and it’s also been rumored that the pieces are being put in place for him to feud with Chris Jericho.
Fightful Select reports that CM Punk and Chris Jericho met and spoke over the last week. People who spoke on the situation noted that the meeting was relatively uneventful considering the issues that the two had.
When CM Punk first joined AEW, Chris Jericho reportedly approached him so that they could let bygones be bygones, and Punk responded in kind, so it seemed that there was no reason for the two to have issues with one another. Following the brawl at All Out it’s being said that Chris Jericho shouted at Punk, and Punk also recently called Jericho a “stooge” in his infamously deleted Instagram post.
Sources familiar with the situation have said that it seems Punk and Jericho could end up working together without issue, but also pointed toward Punk’s recent history, and Jericho’s history of welcoming confrontation.
One source noted that it was a positive Chris Jericho and CM Punk didn’t fight before jokingly saying, “well, yet.” Stay tuned for more updates on CM Punk’s AEW status as they become available.
