Next week SmackDown Live is moving to Friday nights on FOX, and it was recently confirmed that Renee Young and Booker T will be hosting a WWE Studio show on FS1 called WWE Backstage.
PWInsider is now reporting that CM Punk was at FOX studios earlier this week meeting with network officials for a potential on air role on the show.
Renee Young was also present, and it’s being reported that Punk did some on camera tests, but it has not been confirmed that he signed a deal.
FOX officials have been bringing in numerous people for a potential role on the show, so Punk isn’t the only one in the mix.
Taz, Paige, Rey Mysterio and Sean Waltman have also been brought in for a potential role.
It’s being said that FOX has played with different versions of the show and how it will be presented. The idea of having 3 to 5 personalities on a panel has been discussed but a final decision has not been made.
WWE Backstage is set to air Tuesday nights on FS1 starting 11/5.
