CM Punk finally made his long awaited return to wrestling when he joined AEW in 2021, but his run with the company came to an end last month after his contract was terminated. Now that Punk is no longer a part of the AEW roster there’s been a lot of talk about him possibly returning to WWE, and it sounds like moves are being made.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that people close to CM Punk have said that it’s his intention to return to WWE, and the two sides are in talks. It’s been rumored that it’s happening, but those in WWE have only said that no deal has been completed as of yet.
It was also noted that if CM Punk does come to terms on a deal with WWE then a Survivor Series return would make the most sense for him because the event is set to be held in Chicago this year.
CM Punk last appeared on WWE programming when he competed in the 2014 men’s Royal Rumble match. Punk made his last appearance on a wrestling show back in August at AEW All In. It doesn’t sound like the former WWE Champion has any plans to walk away from wrestling, so we’ll have to wait and see where he shows up next.
