Fans have certainly seen some interesting AEW departures over the last few months, and QT Marshall recently issued a statement revealing that he is parting ways with All Elite Wrestling.
Wrestle Purists report that there are differing opinions in AEW regarding how wrestling should be presented. QT Marshall was said to be one of the voices championing a more entertainment based approach to wrestling. Sources noted that Marshall wasn’t a fan of some of the creative changes in AEW and felt that the company wasn’t telling great stories like they used to.
When AEW Collision first launched QT Marshall made some appearances during the early days of the show with his QTV segments. QT’s run on the show was short lived and it’s being reported that CM Punk didn’t want QT Marshall to be a part of Collision, and that he didn’t think QTV was productive for the presentation of Powerhouse Hobbs.
Tony Khan reportedly took the fall for removing QTV segments from Collision which damaged his relationship with QT Marshall. It’s being said that Marshall felt there was a lack of transparency regarding why the QTV segments were removed from Collision. QT Marshall believed that CM Punk removed him from the show and he did not believe Tony Khan when Tony took the fall.
Cody Rhodes recently commented on QT Marshall’s AEW departure when he posted the following:
“Did the work – was essential in making so many memories for fans & has been so instrumental in helping countless wrestlers. A pros’ PRO. We almost became friends ha. I can’t wait to see what you do next! An OG and outstanding “num 2” through his tenure. Congratulations QT on the run so far.”
