CM Punk made his big debut with All Elite Wrestling back in August of 2021 and he immediately became the top star in the company. Punk’s segments got a lot of people talking and it appears that CM Punk also had his own ideas when it came to the presentation of AEW.
When AEW first launched rankings were introduced, but eventually they were phased out. Recently it was confirmed that the rankings will be returning, and Bryan Alvarez claimed on the Bryan and Vinny Show that it was CM Punk’s idea to get rid of them.
“Do you know whose idea it was to get rid of the rankings? I was told it was CM Punk, he talked Tony into getting rid of the rankings.”
Tony Khan has informed fans that the rankings are returning this month, so it looks like All Elite Wrestling will be using the ranking system moving forward.
As for CM Punk, he’s focused on the Royal Rumble match and he’s set to come face to face with Cody Rhodes on Monday Night Raw this week. Stay tuned for updates.
