CM Punk is always one of the most talked about figures in professional wrestling, so it’s no surprise that he got people talking once again on Sunday. Punk successfully defended his Real AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe in the opening match at All In, but CM Punk was reportedly involved in a backstage altercation with Jack Perry before the match began.
It’s been reported that things got physical between CM Punk and Jack Perry backstage with some reports claiming Punk choked Jack Perry after Perry stepped up to him, and other versions of the story claiming that Punk initiated the altercation and punched Perry.
Bryan Alvarez discussed the altercation on Wrestling Observer Radio and noted that after his match CM Punk was escorted to his dressing room by security before he was asked to leave the building.
“He [CM Punk] goes to the backstage area and immediately there is security there and security escorts CM Punk back to his dressing room. Jack Perry was then told to leave and he was removed from the building [Wembley Stadium]. CM Punk stayed in his dressing room with security, for I’m not sure how long, but eventually security came and removed him from the building.”
During the AEW All In post-show media scrum Tony Khan confirmed that a backstage altercation did take place at the event, but no further details were provided. Stay tuned for updates.
