The stars of WWE have been busy over the last few days bringing the action to the fans on the holiday tour. Over the last few days the holiday tour has rolled through several different cities and on Sunday night the action continued at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL.
CM Punk challenged Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship inside a steel cage at the event. Near the end of the match it seemed that CM Punk had it won when he hit Gunther with the GTS. However, Dominik Mysterio ended up interfering when he slammed the cage door in CM Punk’s face as he was trying to escape. Dominik Mysterio then held the door open for Gunther who escaped the cage to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Following the recent shows CM Punk took to social media to reflect on the holiday tour in an Instagram story. Punk thanked fans for purchasing tickets, thanked everyone on the crew, and he also took a shot at Dominik Mysterio when he posted the following:
“New York, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Chicago. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket to see us.
Chicago. What can I say? I love you with all my heart. Been over ten years since I was able to wrestle in what I will always call the rosemont horizon. It is my privilege. Two million dollar houses, on our way to a third ins Houston.
Proud of everyone on the crew who worked hard and made it all possible except little Dominick Mysterio who is a greasy t***.

Unfortunately for CM Punk he didn’t win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in his first encounter with Gunther, but he has another big match coming up next week as he’s currently set face Seth Rollins when Raw premieres on Netflix on January 6, 2025.
Stay tuned for updates.
