CM Punk On Why He Doesn’t Want To Start A Podcast

It’s been years since fans have seen CM Punk in the ring, and he’s given no indication that he wants to return to the world of professional wrestling. But Punk recently took the time to reflect on a triple threat match which saw him face off against Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero at an IWA event in 2002.

Rey Mysterio recently shared a photo from the match on Instagram, and Punk responded by praising Rey and Eddie when he posted the following:

“People should know how good Eddie really was. He was in a rough spot. Recently fired, home front was turbulent. He came to this show and looked tired. Said to me ‘I hate three ways. If it’s okay with you, can you and Rey put something together and just call it to me?’ I wasn’t sure that was possible. He didn’t miss a beat. And you Rey, so open and giving to a little punk Indy kid. You laid out a masterpiece and I wasn’t sure I could keep up. One of the early times I remember being in the ring and thinking to myself, ‘this is f–king MAGIC!’ A pleasure. An honor. I miss Eddie, truly fortunate to have worked him as many times as I did. I feel the same about you Rey! Legends, who treated me like an equal, and I’ve never forgotten it. Viva la raza!”

A fan on Twitter later brought up the story and suggested that Punk should start a podcast to tell more stories like the one above.

However, CM Punk quickly shot that idea noting that he doesn’t want to put himself in a position where he could potentially end up in legal trouble over the things he said.

CM Punk appeared on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast in late 2014 and he was very open about why he left WWE.

Unfortunately for Punk WWE Dr. Chris Amann took him to court over some of the things he said, and the trial came to a conclusion last year.
