CM Punk On If WWE Will Change Now That Vince McMahon Is Retired

Last week Vince McMahon announced his retirement and Triple H went on to take over creative with Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan now working as co-CEO of WWE. There’s been a lot of speculation about what could change moving forward, but former WWE Champion CM Punk told the Absolute Geek podcast at Comic-Con that he doesn’t think the culture will be any different.

“I don’t think the structure there… I don’t think the culture there changes at all. I think it is what it is. People are going to be real f—— mad about this, but f— it. Mercedes [Banks] and Trinity [Naomi] leave, and they announce on SmackDown that ‘Gosh darn, we’re so disappointed in them, they really let our fans down.’ Brock splits, comes back obviously, I think he worked the show [SmackDown], but where was Michael Cole saying ‘Man, Brock Lesnar really let these fans down.'”

CM Punk then went on to talk about Naomi and Sasha Banks walking out while comparing their experience to his own exit from World Wrestling Entertainment.

“I walked out, they went on TV and called me a quitter. What’s changed? What’s the difference? You’re going to attack these two f—— poor women who just kinda had enough and they walked? They’ve [Banks and Naomi] got bigger balls than everybody there. So what’s changed? There’s nothing much that’s changed. People who lick the boots and have the audacity to go on live television and say that about those two women? They’re f—— cowards and bootlickers. That s—- ridiculous. Why didn’t they do it for Brock? They did it for me. I don’t know. It’s none of my business.”

Stay tuned for more updates on the fallout from Vince McMahon’s retirement as they become available.
