It’s been years since CM Punk walked away from the professional wrestling business, but the former WWE Champion is always open to the idea of talking about wrestling with fans on social media.
Recently CM Punk held a Q&A session on Twitter, and a fan asked him if he would take a backstage role as a creative director if a wrestling promotion were to offer him that job. Punk offered a simple response when he replied with, “I’d listen.”
CM Punk hasn’t officially wrestled a match since he was eliminated from the Royal Rumble in 2014, but current IWGP Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay has issued an open invitation for CM Punk to challenge him for his belt. Punk noted during an interview that he doesn’t want to give people false hope, but he’s more interested in new and different things.
“I don’t want to give people false hope in answering Ospreay. But he’s for sure somebody that I’ve never wrestled before that interests me a lot more than, I guess, the corporate side of professional wrestling nowadays. New and different things are going to interest me more than doing the same old, same old. I always need new goals. I don’t know. Let’s see if he has it at the end of the summer and then ask me the question again.”
