After spending 7 long years away from wrestling CM Punk made his debut with AEW in 2021 and he was consistently featured on AEW programming in the year that followed. CM Punk’s AEW status has been in question ever since the All Out pay-per-view back in September, but CM Punk recently highlighted some of his stats for 2022 on social media.
CM Punk posted a graph in his Instagram stories highlighting that he was the focus of AEW’s top two highest viewed YouTube videos of 2022, and he also shared two posts pointing out that he had two of the highest selling action figures on Ringside Collectibles.
It’s also worth noting that CM Punk was the second highest merch seller of 2022 on ProWrestlingTees.com and ShopAEW.com right behind Danhausen. Despite CM Punk’s success with AEW his status with the company is still in question as was reported following All Out that AEW was in talks to buy out his contract. However, neither CM Punk nor Tony Khan have confirmed that’s the case. Stay tuned for updates.
