You can’t see CM Punk in a WWE ring nowadays, but you can see him on MTV’s “The Challenge: Champs vs Pros.” The show features professional athletes competing against reality stars for $50,000 to be donated to charity, and the show is hosted by Victor Cruz.
Victor Cruz recently spoke to Pete Rosenberg of Hot 97 and he was asked about what it’s like to be around CM Punk. Cruz says that Punk is a “G” but cast member Johnny Bananas is the type of guy that likes to get under people’s skin. According to Victor Cruz, Johnny brought up the fact that Punk’s UFC debut didn’t go so well, and Cruz says CM Punk got heated.
“He mentioned that to him and CM Punk got hot. He was livid and they was almost nose to nose about to square off. And they wanted me to come over there and be like ‘hey guys, break it up.’ But I looked at the MTV exec like, ‘I’m not doing that.’ I’m gonna let that diffuse on its own, you know what I’m saying.”
It’s no big secret that CM Punk has a temper, and the fact that he was pummeled and beaten by Mickey Gall in only 2 minutes and 45 seconds at UFC 203 probably isn’t something he wants to be reminded of.
5 Star Wrestling recently offered CM Punk $1 million dollars to return to the ring, but it seems highly unlikely that he’ll take the deal as he remains committed to his MMA career.
No word on who CM Punk’s next opponent will be if he does end up fighting again, but from what Victor Cruz told Pete Rosenberg, it sounds like Punk wouldn’t mind going a few rounds with Johnny Bananas in the octagon.
