The first Raw of 2026 aired live from the Barclays Center on Monday night and the show featured three big title matches. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles changed hands when Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky defeated Asuka & Kairi Sane to win the belts, and Becky Lynch went on to defeat Maxxine Dupri to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship for the second time in her career.
For weeks now WWE has been hyping up the Bron Breakker vs. CM Punk match for the World Heavyweight Championship and the two stars finally clashed in the main event. Breakker entered first and Paul Heyman accompanied him to the ring.
Bron Breakker dominated the majority of the match as Punk struggled to get any offense in. Punk tried for the GTS twice, but Breakker shut him down both times. CM Punk went to the outside to catch his breath, and Breakker charged at the champion as he prepared to spear him through the barricade, but Punk took Breakker down with a clothesline.
Later in the match Breakker went for a Frankensteiner and Punk held onto the ropes, so Breakker fell to the mat. Punk followed up with an elbow drop from the middle rope for a two count. Shortly after Breakker connected with the Frankensteiner then pinned Punk and the champion kicked out.
CM Punk finally made a comeback and connected with a top rope elbow drop. He called for the GTS as Paul Heyman got up on the apron. Punk got distracted by Heyman then The Vision made their way to ringside. While Punk was distracted Breakker pushed Punk into the referee who fell out of the ring.
While the ref was on the outside Austin Theory hit the Stomp on Punk. Breakker pinned him, but Punk kicked out at two. Bronson Reed cleared off the announce table as Penta’s music hit. Dragon Lee, Penta and Rey Mysterio appeared and they fought off The Vision as they battled through the crowd.
Back in the ring Bron Breakker went for a spear, but Punk moved out of the way and he hit the ring post. Punk hit the GTS on Breakker and Breakker kicked out at two.
CM Punk followed up with a piledriver for another two count. He tried for the GTS again but Breakker reversed it into an armbar. Punk managed to get out of it and apply the Anaconda Vice, but Breakker powered out of it.
Bron Breakker teased that he was going to hit the GTS and he put Punk on his shoulders. Punk reversed it into the STF and Breakker got to the ropes.
Heyman got on the apron again and distracted CM Punk who grabbed Heyman and punched him. Breakker went for a spear, but Punk dodged it and Breakker fell to the outside. Punk went for a dive on Breakker only for Breakker to hit him with a right hand.
Punk leaned on the announce table and Breakker jumped off the top rope and put Punk through the table. Bron dragged Punk back to the ring then went for the spear. Punk intercepted it with a knee then hit the GTS to retain.
