In the world of professional wrestling you can never say never, and that point was proven on Saturday night when CM Punk finally returned to WWE at Survivor Series.
Punk made his first appearance on WWE programming in almost a decade when he entered the Allstate Arena after the men’s WarGames match. It was later confirmed that CM Punk would be appearing on Monday Night Raw this week. CM Punk made his way out to the ring during the main event segment and he received a big reaction from the fans in attendance.
The fans greeted him with “CM Punk” chants and he said that lately he’s been feeling a little bit more like himself. He said he’s got two words that he’s afraid to say and he told the fans “I’m home.” Punk said that this is where he belongs and he acknowledged that the fans never forgot him even though he was gone for 10 years.
CM Punk said he heard the chants and he’s back because he loves the fans. Punk said he wishes he never had to leave, but a wise man once told him to get everything he needs to get out of this place he needed to leave, and he’s back to get everything he wanted. The former WWE Champion said in front of and behind the camera it’s been nothing but love. He told everyone that people have been asking about AJ Lee, and that she is fabulous and sends her regards.
The Second City Saint said everyone has welcomed him back with open arms and everyone’s happy to have him in WWE. Almost everybody. Punk said some people are afraid of the truth. He said the competition is here, but the Best in the World hasn’t been here in 10 years, so some people may be afraid that he just raised the bar.
The former WWE Champion ended by saying that the Best in the World is back. He looked in the camera as the show went off the air and said, “I’m not here to make friends. I’m here to make money.”
