CM Punk might not be communicating with WWE much anymore except through his attorneys, but that doesn’t mean that he’s shutting out everyone affiliated with WWE. After all, he still has some friends in the business they just don’t talk about pro wrestling because it looks like he’s still over that portion of his life.
Richochet and CM Punk have never crossed paths in the ring before but the Second City Savior is obviously aware of The One And Only’s work because it’s hard not to be aware of Ricochet at this point.
This all started between Punk and Ricochet on Twitter when the NXT newcomer tweeted a picture at the former WWE Champion asking if it looked familiar. The picture was a wall with a poster of Slap Shot which happens to be one of CM Punk’s favorite movies.
The 1st Summit Center actually has a little gallery dedicated to the 1977 movie that holds such a special place in Punk’s heart which is actually pretty cool if you’re a fan of the film.
Punk replied to Ricochet after The One And Only tweeted him the picture saying, “are you rasslin’ in my favorite building?” Forgetting the fact that CM Punk wrote the word “rasslin'” the important part is that it looks like WWE might have another reason to get CM Punk back in due time because CM Punk vs Ricochet could turn into a dream match that might light up the pro wrestling world.
Although Punk has expressed no interest in making a pro wrestling return it isn’t out of the picture simply because you can never say never in pro wrestling. But as of right now it looks like CM Punk is going to keep concentrating on his UFC 225 fight against Mike Jackson while Ricochet continues to cut his teeth in big ways inside WWE’s developmental territory.
Hey @CMPunk this looks familiar. pic.twitter.com/ZJE2kJGnBU
