Raw kicked off in a big way on Monday night as CM Punk was shown driving a SUV into the SAP Center as the fans chanted his name. The former WWE Champion then made his way through Gorilla and into the arena to a big reaction from the crowd.
Punk grabbed a mic and said that he has a lot on his plate, but one of the things that’s no longer on his plate is Seth Rollins. He talked about the injury he suffered last year during the 2024 Royal Rumble match. He said there were a lot of things he couldn’t see then referenced John Cena when he waved his hand in front of his face. Punk then look directly into the camera and told John Cena that he sees him. The former WWE Champion brought up how John Cena declared for the Royal Rumble and stated that he’ll also be in the match.
Punk declared that he’s going to win the Royal Rumble then asked for his entrance music to be played, but Seth Rollins’ music hit instead. Seth told Punk that he knows he’s not happy to see him, but he told him last week that he would be standing in the ring win, lose, or draw.
The Visionary recalled some of the big matches he’s lost as he stated that his match with Punk on Raw was the worst loss of his career. Rollins told Punk that the only thing he can do now is flush Punk’s WrestleMania dreams down the toilet. Seth declared that he’s going to win the Royal Rumble and throw Punk over the top rope. CM Punk accused Seth of taking the easy way out because he couldn’t beat him.
Drew McIntyre interrupted. Things got heated between Punk and Drew, but Drew made it clear that he was there to address Seth. McIntyre went off on Seth then CM Punk indicated he was ready to throw hands. Seth and Punk got ready for a fight as Drew walked to the ring. Drew asked if they wanted to fight, then said “no.”
The Scottish Warrior said Roman Reigns is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. McIntyre said there has to be a way to get his hands on the title before Roman does, then he declared for the Royal Rumble.
