CM Punk is once again a hot topic in the world of wrestling as he recently posted an Instagram story where he claimed that Jon Moxley refused to lose to him, and he also called Chris Jericho a “liar” and a “stooge.” Punk has not appeared on AEW programming since the All Out pay-per-view last year where he was infamously involved in a backstage brawl with The Elite after the show. Now it seems that some new details regarding what happened after the brawl have been revealed.
Fightful Select reports that there were rumors that CM Punk and Kenny Omega had a conversation a few days after the brawl at All Out, but that isn’t true. Punk was set for surgery by then and Kenny Omega had other plans.
However, it’s being reported that CM Punk and Kenny Omega had a brief conversation immediately following the backstage altercation at All Out. It’s being said that CM Punk told Kenny Omega the issue wasn’t with him. People who were nearby noted that Punk and Omega were going to continue talking, but at that point in time Ace Steel was still being dealt with.
Even people close to CM Punk claim that Kenny Omega was surprisingly composed following the backstage incident. Originally Omega was supposed to go to Japan to do work for AEW at Tokyo Game Show, but he ended up taking a personal trip over there after he was suspended.
