Claudio Castagnoli had a long run with WWE working as Cesaro, but earlier this year he decided to part ways with the company, and a few weeks ago he made his debut with All Elite Wrestling.
During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Claudio Castagnoli opened up about his WWE departure and in the article it was noted that he made the decision to leave WWE after he was left off the Royal Rumble back in January. However, Claudio decided to show gratitude for WWE while saying that his goal is to be better.
“It can be hard to take the high road, but that’s the road I am going to take. All the memories, they matter. I’m grateful for everything I have accomplished and I’m grateful for all those opportunities. And they make me work so much harder to get where I want to be.
“Once I left, I knew what I wanted and where I wanted to go, I just didn’t know if it would happen. That was also time for me to take a break mentally, recharge, and come back better. My goal is always to be better than I was yesterday, to be better tomorrow than I am today. I want to be even better now than people remember.”
Recently Tony Khan confirmed that Claudio’s deal with All Elite Wrestling is a long-term deal, so it sounds like fans can expect to see him on AEW programming for years to come. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
