Leading up to the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view it was rumored that Claudio Castagnoli could be making his debut, and when he finally did fans let him know they were happy to see him.
Claudio faced off against Zack Sabre Jr. then after the show he talked to the press with Tony Khan by his side. During the post-show media scrum Tony Khan hugged Claudio, and the internet had quite the reaction to the hug. During a recent interview with Ten Count, Claudio talked about the reaction to the hug and compared it to a high five.
“It’s so strange because that was after Forbidden Door, the press conference. It was literally like, it was like a quick hug. It was just like I was done, and it was just like, it lasts. It was like, you know when you see your friend and then you give like a high five and then like a pat on the back kind of hug and like it was screen captured, and I guess people ran with it. Hey, it’s just a few pros hugging.”
Claudio will be in action on Saturday when he challenges Jonathan Gresham for the ROH World Title at Death Before Dishonor. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
