After winning a fatal four way match on Raw this past Monday Christian was scheduled to face Big E for the Intercontinental Title on Main Event but was then pulled from the match. The reason Christian was pulled is because he suffered a concussion and was unable to compete. Talk of Christian retiring has apparently picked up since Monday as this is his second concussion in the past year.
There were rumors going around a few months ago that Christian was considering retirement when his contract expires due to the fact that he’s 40 years old now, has had some bad luck recently as far as injuries go and creative doesn’t seem to have any major plans for him.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that WWE is considering offering Christian a role as a trainer in NXT when his contract expires.
