The rumor mill has been running wild for weeks now with talk of Edge making his AEW debut, and on Sunday night Adam Copeland officially arrived at WrestleDream. Copeland confronted Christian Cage after the main event which has led to a lot of talk about what’s to come for the two former tag team partners.
Following his successful title defense at WrestleDream, Christian Cage talked about Adam Copeland’s debut at the post-show press conference and he tried to play it off as if he didn’t care.
“I said this at the last scrum, I don’t have any friends other than Luchasaurus. Was I surprised to see him? Yes. Did I care? Not really, it doesn’t change anything for me. I’m still the face of TNT, I’m still the TNT Champion, I’m still the man to beat in AEW. You understand that, right?”
Christian Cage then went on to hype up the importance of the TNT Championship when he added, “A few short months ago, people were saying this title meant nothing. I’ve taken it and main evented WrestleDream tonight. I made this title. This title, in my opinion, is more prestigious than the world title, mainly because I carry it. But I think my track record speaks for itself, and I think you have to give me my flowers now, do you not?”
