Chris Sabin On His Run As TNA World Champion, Wanting To Work For WWE And More

We noted earlier that former TNA star Chris Sabin recently appeared on The Shining Wizards podcast and expressed interest in working for WWE. The full interview can be found at this link. Below are more highlights:

Talent in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s Battle of LA:

This tournament is the best of the best. It’s the people who aren’t really signed to big contracts right now. The people are in for just an unbelievable show. And I’m looking forward to wrestling Ricochet as well. It’s a confirmation of my status of where I am as far as wrestling goes. It’s an honor to be considered amongst the best of the best. Everyone in this tournament is talented. They wouldn’t be in the tournament if they weren’t talented.

WrestleJam 12 and giving back:

I meet a lot of kids, and I do meet a lot of disabled people and sign autographs or take pictures. It’s always good to give back, of course, to any kind of fan. St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital is a really kind thing that WrestleJam is doing and I’m honored to be a part of it. It’s always good to give back.

Measuring success in pro wrestling:
I think success is a very subjective thing. Each person has different goals and aspirations for their own career. I think it’s up to each individual person as a wrestler to find their own success. What do they see as their own personal level of success? Some people will be perfectly content working once a month in front of fifty people. Some may consider that successful, while another person might thing the ultimate goal of headlining WrestleMania to be successful. There are completely different levels of success, and it’s hard to say that it’s something you can really measure objectively.

His TNA World Heavyweight Title run:

I thought it was good. It was an accomplishment of course. You don’t get into wrestling if you don’t want to be the world champion. Who doesn’t want to be the world champion? It was a very satisfying moment for it to happen. I thought it was probably too soon. I was only back for about two months after being out of action for two years. I wish I could have had a longer build up to it. So having it happen after only two months and then only having it for a couple weeks after that, I thought it could have been done in a way better way. If the story was told in a different way, we could have gotten way more out of it and it could have lasted way longer than the short period that it did. I’m still happy it happened. It was a good experience and at least I can say that I’ve done that.

Wanting to work for WWE:

My goal is to wrestle for WWE. That’s been my goal since I was a little kid. I have always wanted to work for that specific company. I wouldn’t say that I’m not successful. I wouldn’t say that because I haven’t worked there I’m not successful. I’ve been very successful and very lucky.
