Chris Jericho hasn’t wrestled a match outside of WWE since 1999, but that’s all going to change in January when he takes on Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12 in the Tokyo Dome.
Jericho did a great job at keeping the match a secret and after the match was officially announced, everyone wondered who did, or didn’t know about the match beforehand.
There was a lot of speculation about whether or not Chris Jericho had told Vince McMahon about the match ahead of time, and during a recent appearance on The Ross Report he indicated that he probably gave Vince a heads up.
“You know how smart I am throughout my career, and you know the relationship I have with Vince, and I would never jeopardize that, or give him any nasty surprises,” via CSS. “So, I’ll just leave it at that.”
In the grand scheme of things Chris Jericho wrestling Kenny Omega at the Tokyo Dome on January 4 really doesn’t hurt WWE in any way. As a matter of fact it only helps to create a buzz around Jericho that will likely end up making his return to WWE even bigger.
Chris Jericho’s return to WWE has yet to be announced, but it’s rumored that we could be seeing him back on WWE programming sometime in January after his match with Omega.
