Chris Jericho recently wrapped up what many fans consider to be the greatest WWE run of his career, and now he’s out on the road melting faces with his rock band Fozzy.
Jericho has accomplished just about everything there is to accomplish when it comes to the ideal wrestling career and he’s made many of his dreams come true. Jericho recently spoke to The Washington Post during one of Fozzy’s stops on tour, and he said that although he’s booked for a few live events this summer, he’s not sure when he’ll return for a long run, if he ever does.
“It’ll be a long time before I go back,” he said. “If I ever do go back, if I never go back, it’s fine. If I never wrestle another match, it wouldn’t bother me.”
Prior to his return to television in January of 2016, Chris Jericho worked WWE live events throughout 2015, so it’s not uncommon for Jericho to work live events and not appear on WWE programming.
It would certainly be a shame if Chris Jericho does indeed stay away from WWE for a long time, or forever for that matter. Jericho has been in the business for a long time, but he always pushes himself to find new ways to entertain the fans, and he only seems to be getting better with age.
Will Chris Jericho return to WWE eventually? It’s worth noting that he’s made similar comments like the one above in the past.
Every time Chris Jericho has returned he’s found a way to make each run different, so let’s just hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of him on WWE programming.
