The Rock is one of the biggest stars to ever work in the professional wrestling industry, as is Shawn Michaels, but fans never got to see a Rock vs. HBK dream match.
Recently Bret Hart shared some stories about The Rock’s early days in WWE, and he noted that Shawn Michaels and Triple H used to bully The Rock backstage.
Chris Jericho addressed Bret Hart’s claims during the latest episode of his Saturday Night Special, and he said that as far as he knows Bret’s claims are true.
“As far as I know, that’s true, from what The Rock told me. That’s the reason why The Rock and Shawn Michaels never worked a match. I think Shawn might have insulted The Rock when he was a kid, in Hawaii.”
Unfortunately for the fans it seems highly unlikely that we’ll ever see The Rock face Shawn Michaels, but at least now we know why it never happened.
