Chris Jericho has been a very hot topic in the wrestling world over the last few months as it was rumored that his AEW contract was set to expire at the end of 2025. That turned out to not be the case and Jericho is still currently listed on the AEW roster page as of this writing.
Fightful Select is reporting that Chris Jericho is firmly under contract with AEW. The belief from those around Chris Jericho and in AEW is that his deal was frozen when he took time off in 2025.
It was noted that a number of factors could have extended the deal from Jericho re-signing, to injury time, to a deal freezing. Fightful asked AEW a number of times in an official capacity of Chris Jericho had left the company and didn’t get a response. It is usually standard for an internal memo to be issued when there’s a departure, but there has been no memo regarding Jericho’s departure from the company.
AEW talent have not been included in the lineup for the Jericho Cruise in November. Sources have indicated that Jericho is actively accepting convention dates in the upcoming months.
It’s being said that those close to Chris Jericho have been very tight lipped when it comes to his future, but he has mentioned that he is open to a WWE return. However, it was also noted that Jericho feared he would have to give up his outside projects while working with WWE.
Speculation regarding potential Jericho return to WWE picked up this week after a mysterious crate with a label that said “do not open until 2-28” was introduced on Raw. However, at this point in time there’s no word on a specific date regarding when Jericho’s deal will be up.
