Chris Jericho Pays For Rex King’s Funeral

When Rex King died of kidney failure at the young age of 55 on Monday, apparently he wasn’t in the best financial situation. King, whoss real name was Timothy Well, was one of the names mentioned in the class action lawsuit against WWE which was filed in July by attorney Konstantine Kyros claiming wrestlers incurred traumatic brain injuries during their tenure with the company.

His Greenup, Kentucky stationed family required help to pay for his funeral so they started a GoFundMe page in order to collect the cash necessary to take care of arrangements. This is when the ‘Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla’ stepped up.

Apparently, Rex was always good to Y2J early in his career and that made a mark on Jericho. When the new United States champion took one look at the GoFundMe page, he paid the entire $2,500 amount requested. Jericho left a message saying that he hopes Rex found peace now and is “with the Lord now”.

The campaign is still open, and now that the original goal has been met thanks to Chris Jericho, the new goal has been bumped up to $15,000. If you would like to donate you can do so by clicking here.

2016 was arguably one of the best years in Chris Jericho’s career, and it looks like he’s starting 2017 off with some really good karma along with his new title. This is another amazing example of the old phrase ‘be nice to everyone while you’re coming up because you’ll see them again on your way down’. Because you never know who you touch along the way until it matters most.
