When All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019 it was announced that Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes would be given Executive Vice President roles with the company. The titles left a lot of people wondering how things would unfold behind the scenes, but it seems that Tony Khan has the final say when it comes making decisions.
Chris Jericho recently appeared on The Sessions with Renee Paquette and he explained why he never bought into the idea of All Elite Wrestling having Executive Vice Presidents.
“I knew it was going to be like this from the moment we started the whole concept of [executive vice presidents] and kind of that whole thing, and I knew that it wouldn’t really mean anything because it’s one boss, it’s one vision, and we have to follow that vision.”
“I worked for Vince for 20 years and one of the reasons why I was able to get as far as I did and become as big as it is because I understood you have to do what your boss wants. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not; it doesn’t matter if you think your stuff is better.”
It was announced on the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite that House of Black will defend the AEW World Trios Championship against The Elite and the Jericho Appreciation Society next week in Winnipeg. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
