Chris Jericho On How Roman Reigns Can Become A Bigger Star Than He Is Now

Roman Reigns has been receiving a lot of praise from the wrestling community ever since he returned to WWE last year, and people have embraced his heel persona. Fans called for a heel turn for years, and there’s no denying that The Tribal Chief character is working for Roman.

Chris Jericho recently appeared on Keepin’ It 100 and he had nothing but good things to say about Roman Reigns. The first ever AEW World Champion also noted that he thinks Roman will be an even bigger star when he eventually turns face.

“I haven’t (watched) but I’ve been reading about it and it’s no surprise. When I was there in 2016 and work with Roman, basically all around the world when I was a heel and he was a babyface, I was like, ‘there’s no brainer here.’ I always said this, and he’s doing it now, if you just drop the fucking script and let him be him, he’s cool-hand luke. He’s like the coolest cat, a f**king great guy.

Just let him be him. Obviously, with the heelish slant, which is great. When he eventually turns babyface, he’ll be even bigger than he is now because he’s just a cool, cool guy and now they’re letting him do all this stuff. It doesn’t surprise me that he’s killing it because he’s that good of a performer.”

At this point it looks like Reigns will be a heel for the foreseeable future, but it will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts when he eventually does turn.
