AEW has come a long way over the last few years and fans have also seen a number of wrestlers join the All Elite Wrestling roster. Tony Khan certainly hasn’t been shy about working with other wrestling promotions and there’s been a lot of talk about the “Forbidden Door” being opened.

With AEW crossing over with companies such as Impact Wrestling, AAA, NWA and New Japan Pro Wrestling fans have often wondered if there’s any chance that WWE might be open to a crossover someday.

Chris Jericho recently addressed a possible AEW/WWE crossover on an episode of Howie Mandel Does Stuff, and he explained why he indicated that he doesn’t think it’s going to happen.

“So WWE for years had the monopoly on the sport. And so my boss is Tony Khan, he was always a lifelong wrestling fanatic, and decided to start his own company. It’s always great to have competition. So I mean obviously we’re competition just by proxy — the fact that we’re in wrestling. But we really don’t look at it that way. They do what they do and we do what we do, and both our very successful.”

“That’s always kind of a wrestling fan’s dream. It’d be like DC versus Marvel, it’s probably not going to happen. Now within our own little universes, we have crossovers with other companies in other countries, but WWE and AEW — no crossover.”
