AEW and NXT have been going head to head on Wednesday nights since October, and this week NXT came out ahead in the ratings for the first time.
The battle was close, but NXT beat out AEW by drawing 916,000 fans, while AEW managed to get 893,000 fans to tune in.
The Wednesday Night Wars seem to be heating up, and AEW World Champion Chris Jericho reacted to NXT’s success when he posted the following:
“Remember guys, it’s a marathon not a sprint….. 😝”
With Survivor Series season in full swing, stars from the main roster have been appearing on NXT over the last weeks, and Jericho pointed out that this week’s episode wasn’t a true NXT show.
With Survivor Series airing live on the WWE Network on Sunday, it will be interesting to see who comes out ahead in the ratings next week when things presumably go back to normal.
