Chris Jericho Appearing At Non-WWE Show With Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, Ryback, And More

Chris Jericho recently made another exit from WWE to go on the road with his band Fozzy. Fans thought they wouldn’t be seeing Y2J in a ring for a while, especially a ring that didn’t belong to WWE. But as it turns out the old saying rings true once again that you never know what can happen in the wacky and wild world of pro wrestling.

The Hudson Valley Renegades are a minor league baseball team that play in The Dutchess Stadium. But when the stadium isn’t hosting baseball games it can be utilized in other ways, for instance the field can host a pro wrestling show. The Renegades are ironically playing in Connecticut on August 27th so Northeast Wrestling is having a show at the park. One very special guest making an appearance is Chris Jericho.

Brian The Guppie made a really good point on Twitter when he said Chris Jericho might be doing something he said he’d never do in appearing at a non-WWE show. Of course, Jericho gets to hang out with some really cool people like everyone else on the poster, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

The poster says Y2J will be making a “special appearance” so it’s likely he won’t wrestle. But if you’re in the Wappingers Falls New York area this show would be excellent to attend because it will also feature a Rey Mysterio vs Cody Rhodes match.

The fact the show is booked with people like Jerry Lawler, Ricky Steamboat, and Ryback only adds to this event’s appeal. It looks like it’s going to be a great show. This might also give WWE fans a clue on how long they might have to wait before The Ayatollah Of Rock n Rolla comes back to SmackDown Live.

Northeast Wrestling keeps putting on all-star shows and this one coming up in August is just another example of what fans of the indie promotion have come to expect.
