Chris Hero has signed with WWE and already returned to their NXT brand earlier this month, but he still has some independent dates on the calendar. One of those bookings is to perform at the EVOLVE 76 show on January 27th, but his dance partner wasn’t confirmed for the event when Hero’s participation was announced.
All that has changed as Keith Lee has stepped up to the plate. We reported last week that Lee had signed with EVOLVE and he has been chosen to face Chris Hero at EVOLVE 76 in his debut with the promotion. Keith Lee and tag team partner Shane Taylor both had offers on the table to sign with Ring of Honor. While Taylor signed with ROH, Lee opted to go for EVOLVE.
This match will be the 2nd to last outing Hero is having with EVOLVE before he goes back to WWE’s NXT brand full time and reclaims the Kassius Ohno moniker.
Hero’s final match for EVOLVE has been set for January 28th where he will face Zack Sabre Jr. Sabre is a man who allegedly turned down a WWE contract after the Cruiserweight Classic for reasons that haven’t been publicly brought to light as of yet. It will be interesting to see what kind of send off Chris Hero gets from EVOLVE.
Tickets for the event are on sale now.
