There were a lot of people who didn’t see Dana Brooke’s turn on Charlotte coming to say the least. But when fury was unleashed on the Nature Girl after Dana’s match on Raw this past Monday night, it was a sight to be seen.
However, if you knew how Charlotte was treating Brooke in the days leading up to the attack, it might put things into perspective a little bit. WWE.com released a video of Dana Brooke and Charlotte Flair before the show started in Detroit that just might clarify the situation a little bit.
Dana told Char-Char, “Listen, I really don’t know how much more I can apologize for screwing up the match last week and letting Sasha in the triple-threat match at WrestleMania. You know I’ve been answering your fan mail all week and I’ve been carrying your bags around the entire country, and best yet I got you an advanced copy of Beauty and the Beast, I’m so sorry.”
Charlotte interrupted her abruptly and said Dana was embarrassing herself and all she needed to do was make sure Sasha Banks didn’t make it to WrestleMania.
This is why Charlotte was so upset at Dana after her loss to Banks on Monday and although it isn’t a justifiable reason for her berating Dana, it does give some more insight into Charlotte’s motivation. Nobody can deny it has to be tough being Dana Brooke. We’ve all been in situations where we strive for someone’s approval only to receive even more impossible tasks for our troubles and Monday was obviously Dana’s breaking point.
Dana flipped out on Charlotte and now their partnership is supposedly over which leaves Charlotte going into Orlando by herself on April 2nd, and Dana doing whatever she wants at this point. It might have been nice having someone get you advanced copies of major theatrical releases, but all good things must come to an end.
Maybe Charlotte will appreciate Dana Brooke after their split, but odds are it will only throw more fuel on the fire and send her in to WrestleMania with even more determination to reclaim her Raw Women’s Championship.
