Charlotte Flair has seen a fair share of adversity in her life. She’s been through a lot but has lived to tell her incredible story which she recently turned into an autobiography co-written with her famous father Ric Flair.
The Nature Girl has been married and divorced twice in her life but that’s only half as many times as The Nature Boy’s been divorced and Ric Flair is currently engaged as well. However, when Charlotte arrived in WWE she said it still bothered her that she was divorced because she said she “hated failing.”
Charlotte Flair was recently a guest on Arm Drag Takedown with Pollo Del Mar where she went into some detail about this tricky fact about her life. The second-generation Superstar also revealed that she was made fun because of her divorce when she arrived in WWE.
“It really got to me when I first started in WWE that people would make fun of me being divorced. My dad has been divorced so many times. I don’t know why it bothered me. I don’t know whether it’s because I hate failing or I was embarrassed or comparing myself to my female peers — I don’t know. But to just get that off my chest, explain what I’ve been through or what I’ve learned, [how] I’ve come out a better person. I think that was the hardest part to share.”
Flair’s been able to overcome some pretty amazing struggles in her life and it’s easy to see how she could be looked at as one of the strongest women in pro wrestling. Not only has she been able to withstand tragedy in her family but also in her own personal life as well.
But as she carries the SmackDown Women’s Title into Clash of Champions, Flair will continue to demonstrate a professionalism and poise so it’s easy to see why she’s such a key locker room leader.
