Rich Swann is a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, but fans haven’t seen much of him on 205 Live recently, because Swann was suspended a few weeks ago following an altercation with his wife.
Rich Swann was arrested on 12/10/17 and charged with false imprisonment and battery, but PWInsider is now reporting that all of the charges have been dropped.
According to the report, the charges were dismissed on Thursday afternoon after prosecutors decided the case would not be moving forward due to “insufficient evidence.”
Shortly after Rich Swann was arrested, WWE suspended him and released the following statement:
“WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault. Upon arrest for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately suspended. Upon conviction for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately terminated.”
Now that the charges have been dropped, it seems that WWE will have the opportunity to bring Rich Swann back, but as of this writing the company has not commented on his status.
The cruiserweight division is going through changes at the moment as Enzo Amore was recently fired, and the Cruiserweight Championship has been vacated.
Daniel Bryan has announced that a new 205 Live General Manager will be revealed next week, and their first task will be to address the Cruiserweight Title situation.
