Chael Sonnen was recently a guest on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast guest. It’s been reported in the past how there was interest from WWE and Sonnen on having him work for the company, possibly as an announcer, but WWE’s interest went down when Sonnen failed drug tests and was cut from UFC.
Sonnen reportedly told Jericho that he was contacted by a WWE executive following his suspension from fighting and told that WWE was not interested in him but if he was 24 years old, he would have a big money contract. Sonnen claimed the WWE executive added that TNA might be interested in him and then if that happened, WWE would make a play for him.
