Chad Gable has been getting a decent amount of TV time on WWE programming over the last few weeks, and much of the focus has been on his height, or lack thereof.
The former Raw Tag Team Champion recently cut a promo declaring that he will be known as Shorty G from now on, and he explained to Sports Illustrated that he saw the promo as a big opportunity.
“The key is to take advantage when given the opportunity. Right before I went out last week to do the Shorty G promo, Bruce Prichard told me to make it my own and feel it.”
He went on to say that he felt the promo, and thought that it added something to his character that had previously been missing.
“That promo, I felt it very deeply. The height thing is a message about overcoming whatever people believe are your shortcomings. Everybody can identify with that. That’s an area Chad Gable, up to this point, had been missing. Now you know what he stands for and what he means. Last Friday was the very first step in that process, and it’s only going to get bigger.”
