Cesaro Talks Hitting His Teeth Against The Ring Post At WWE No Mercy

Sheamus and Cesaro have been big players on the Raw tag team division this year, and at No Mercy they challenged Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose for the Raw Tag Team Titles.

At one point during the match, Cesaro was catapulted into the ring post and he hit his mouth on the top of it. At first it looked as if Cesaro had lost a tooth, but that wasn’t the case. It was later revealed that he ended up pushing his front teeth deeper into his gums.

The injury was brutal to say the least, but he recently told The National that he made a conscious effort to not let it slow him down.

“Well, I knew I hit my teeth really hard [against the ring post] and I just felt all the blood. There was so much flowing and I couldn’t stop it. But I was full of adrenaline and every time you have a title match on a network special, pardon the pun, it is special, and I just wanted to win those tag titles and get through the match. I feel that if you are a true competitor nothing will stop you and some teeth shoved up my jaw certainly didn’t stop me.”

Cesaro now wears a mouthguard when he wrestles, but he says he’s doing much better.

“They are a lot better. I am still not able to bite anything with my front two teeth. Like I said they went up my gums, and I fractured my jaw bone that is over my teeth and beneath my nose. I fractured that and they had to pull the teeth back down. Now I have lovely braces so to all the kids with braces out there, I feel your pain.”

Cesaro and Sheamus are the current Raw Tag Team Champions, and they’re set to face SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions, The Usos, in a non-title match on Sunday at Survivor Series.
